I had purchased rolls of r-19 for 2x6 studs in 23" and 15". I finished the area that needed the R-19 and now have a few rolls left over. My question is, can I use the R-19 in place of R-13 in 2x4 studs? My first thought is yes, but I don't want to make problems for myself later if there is a problem will the insulation being too compressed in a smaller area. I can return the rolls if I have to, but was thinking the extra r-value would be helpful. Thanks for the advice.

Id take them back. You dont want to compress the insulation. ;)

Thanks for that. Now lets hope I can find the receipt.
