Need Help
I had a nearby lightening strike. My system is a DSC PC1555 with 1 PC1555RKZ keypad.
The keypad seems to work ok and I am able to set the alarm. Problem: When a door or window opens there are no chimes, it does not set the alarm off and no zone lights turn on. I seen a post today about welded contacts from lightening. Is there a way to test them and is this where you would start?
Thanks
Jason

One quick and dirty test is to sharply whack the contact with the handle of a screwdriver (with the magnet out of range). This will often free the contact so it will open. Otherwise, you have to disconnect the wire from the contact.
If you are worried that the zone input is damaged, you simply take one of the pair of wires off at the motherboard end.
The tap will often let the contact work normally, but it's a borrowed time thing, and the contact will usually fail for good shortly thereafter.
