I'm installing a new ceramic tile floor in a bathroom and here's what my current floor construction is: 4x4 piers supporting 4x8 beams every 4 feet, beams are spaced 4 feet on center, then 2x6 T&G decking. Currently the project is exposed to the wall studs and the decking.
I will use 1/4" Hardibacker so now I just need to decide how thick of plywood I should install over the 2x6 T&G decking. Hardibacker says floor deflection must not exceed L/360, so how do I find my floor deflection rating? I was hoping to use 3/8" plywood but can go 1/2" no problem.
