I was given a Remington Electric Chain saw recently. It seems to be working properly, however, I don't want to try it out on logs until I get some oil for the blade. Can anyone tell me what oil I should use for the chain? Thank you.

They sell regular oil for chainsaw chains at most hardware stores, but you can use any type oil to lube the chain. I would just get some cheap 10w30 motor oil to lube chain.

Use the oil designed for oiling the chain. It contains an additive to reduce "sling off'. Ordinary motor oil is not a good substitute. I speak from experience. Good luck and be safe.

As a retailer of the product,I second the statement of using actual bar and chain oil on your saw's chain.Regular motor oil must be watched closely as it does fling off much more quickly without the additives. The cost difference is minimal so use the right product.Brand is unimportant.
