I just had a new deck put in, and I'm looking for the best product to seal it. I'm not that interested in a beautiful color; among other things, I live in Houston, so it's hot, and anything that will make the wood darker (and therefore hotter) is undesirable. It's also humid, and we've had a wet summer, so nothing is very dry. Ever.
I'm not trying to get a particular color or anything; a clear sealant would be fine, as long as it was the longest-lasting sealant out there. I'm not that interested in going out and re-doing it every few months. But if a color (lighter rather than darker) will help to keep it from splintering etc, then so be it.
I've heard good things about ReadySeal and TWP, and bad things about Behr. Ideas?
Thanks
