i have a 1994 winnebego elante class a motor home. i am getting a high whining sound from the engine compartment when i step on the gas pedal. the whine is there wheather i am rolling or at a full stop. at the same time this whine started, my speedomter started jumping around. i cannot find a speedo cable at the transmission or under the dash. can someone please help me with the fix? this motorhome sits on a gm p series chassis and has a 454 motor and a turbo hydromatic trans 94 3270. thanks, baadog

the winning sound sounds like it may be the alternator we chnge many like this try and pin point the noise as for the speedo cable it will have a speed sensor sometimes i rear of trans or in the diferential
if there is a bad diode in the alternator this could posibly make spedo jump at idle
