Greetings,

The toilet in our half-bath has overflowed twice now....all over the hardwood flooring. We cleaned all the water up immediately after it happened both times, but now there is an awful odor in that bathroom (smells like an outhouse :(). The floor feels a bit warped in places, as well. Not sure what to do or who to call, so I thought I would give this forum a shot. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!
Julie

Sounds like something is blocking the flow of waste water. First thing is to get it flowing freely. May take a plumber to get it open. Then the toilet probably needs to be removed to get the water that is under it due to the overflow. Once everything is cleaned and dried, you can decide on having the floor refinished or just re-seating the toilet. If you have kids in the house, who knows what may be stuck in the pipes.
