Electronic Alarms and Home Security Devices - DSC 5010 with intercom...

Hi, I need some assistance with my system. The alarm is working fine but the intercoms stopped working. They are connected to a PC5936 w/5937 extender. The have a seperate power supply from a PC4204. There are 2 LED lights on the 5936, LED1 is red and LED2 is green. When I plug in the transformer, the red light illuminates for 1 second, then the green for about 10 seconds...intercoms work for that time. Then both illuminate at the same time and fade away to nothing. They will not light again unless I unplug for 1 minute then the same thing over again.

My assumption was the PC4204 board was overheating, so I found a PC5204 and when I connect it, the red light comes on for 1 second then everything is dark.

Anyone have any ideas? The PC 5936 is no longer available, so hopefully the board is still ok.

Hmmm, if this thing was working ok before, and there have been no changes made to it, all I can suggest is disconnecting the remote stations one at a time to see if one of them has failed and is causing the system to draw too much power and shut down.

MrRonFL you are awesome...I only wish I would have posted that question a week earlier...it would have save me $135 that the alarm company charged me to come out and look at it with no answers.

You were right on the money...the intercom that is outside was causing the problem. Now I just need to find a replacement.
