We have an armadillo digging up the flowerbeds around the house. My wife saw it in the neighbors beds this morning, just a day or so after it tore up two beds at my house. So far it's been limited to the beds but I want to control them before they start on the lawn.

Google suggests castor oil granules or liquid/powdered coyote urine. If it works, then great, but I don't want to replace armored rats with coyotes. I'm not interested in trapping, I want to force them to go elsewhere or terminate them. Does anyone have experience with 'dillos that can offer any tips, suggestions or cures for such a problem?

Thanks

Here's an old thread that might help you out:

It was helpful, thanks.

We're gonna try a three-pronged approach. We're gonna use the coyote urine in one bed, mothballs in another and castor oil granules in another to see if any one works better than the other.

Grub control will be next, that seems to be what they're after. No plant damage, just holes in the beds so far.

I would suggest Dr Ts Snake Away instead of mothballs

The price has come down to a reasonable $15 and is easier to apply without waste.

Use that in the beds and treat the lawn for grubs
