heat pump is not cooling well. freon is ok. refrigerant line gets cold whenever the compressor comes on, but within a minute it is only ambient temperature. what could be some of the causes?

Could be that the compressor is turning off. Could also be the electric heat coming on.

no, the compresor continues to run. how can i tell about the heat?

Amp it or check with a meter to see if some heat comes on. TXV valve ??? The 4 way valve is it ok??? If just worked on did contaminate like noncondensables get in it.
