I have a fairly new LG Dehumidifier Model LHD45EL. To clean the coils, the instruction manual has an illustration that shows to remove the two bottom screws, then just pull the front grill off. After removing the screws, I cannot seem to get the grill off by pulling. I am afraid to pull too hard, or try to pry it off, since I believe I may break or damage the grill. Just wanted to know if anyone else had any experience, or should I just "get tough with it".

I'll check tmrw at work and see what needs to be done.

Sorry it took me longer to get back to you. It was kinda tricky to get off, you will almost have lift it up. then pull forward. It may snap sound.

See if there are little plastic clips that hook on when pushed into place. If so, then you need to gently push on each one with a screwdriver to release the clips. A little too much force and the clips snap off. That's how the ones I've had were put together, but they're a different brand.

I've never found a need to clean the coils on mine (no dirt there) and one lasted between 15 and 20 years!

Lot of the newer unit use a diffirent style coil vs the old ones that just had a large round coil in back.

The LG models has a filter that you take out and wash monthly.
