I have some really bad patchwork done on my living room ceiling. I wood like to hide it as best possible with a Faux finish. Unfortunately I already purchased a flat finish paint. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of rag rolling or using a technique called Frottage.

Welcome to the forums!
While a faux technique MIGHT minimize how bad the repairs look, why not redo the repairs right? Once the repairs are fixed the ceiling will look good with either straight paint or faux paint.
