Ive been all around these forums and have learned alot. i finally after 3weeks got my GE Concord Express 60-806 to ARM. i had to purchase the LCD Touchpad and get the installer code to work.

my question is about the window/door contacts. will any hardwired contacts work with this system or do they need specific specs? when i connect the ones i purchased, the system is able to learn them and after that it displays "trouble" with the sensor number. it will show them open if i trip them but wont ARM.

what am i doing wrong? the PIR sensor, also wired, works 100%, but its by GE. Thanks.

Hardwired contacts are just a switch, there is no intelligence in them. Most likely you may have accidentally learned them in as normally open instead of closed, or you have the wrong sensor group/zone type programmed for that zone. Did you remember to install the supervision resistors? They aren't optional.

When you trip a zone to learn it into the system, that is the state that the system expects to treat as actively in alarm.

Make sure you didn't buy contacts with resistors built in. They are available. The wrong resistance could be as bad as no resistor.

You had to learn the hard way about the LCD keypad, huh. It's stupid that they don't make that clear up front.
