Bought a house that has a Brinks Home Security Alarm System but we do not use a house phone, just cell phones. Does anyone know of a procedure to recode the system without knowing the previous or old code? In order to Test the system the master code is needed. We just want the alarm to sound at home and not be transmitted to the Brinks Monitoring Center. Without the code, the alarm can not be turned off.

Brinks is very proprietary. Once the contract has expired, they usually lock out the panel so it's not able to be used. Read through the FAQ sticky in this forum, it discusses how to retrieve the codes, but I think you maybe SOL.
