My Kenmore 50 pint dehumidifier had a coolant gas leak and now it spins fine but humidity stays the same in the basement because its coolant gas is not there anymore. I can see the minor crack on the metallic copper pipe coming out from the compressor side. Is it worth to get it weld/solder and re-fill with the new coolant gas? How much it could cost for this fix? Which brand of dehumidifier is better, Kenmore or Whirlpool? Is there any other better company name?
Thanks
Cadi

If you have been running it this way for even a short time . Id say just go get a new one. The cost to fix it vacuum it down, line tap and put freon in it would be high .

IMO...get another brand the Kenmore DH are not what they use to be. I have 3 new ones and in the last year all 3 have been in the shop. When they go out again it will go to the recycle bin.f
