Electronic Alarms and Home Security Devices - Do smoke detectors and heat detectors connect to the same circuit?

I am installing 4-wire smoke detectors, and two-wire heat detector (Kitchen) to a Power 832 system. Do these devices both connect to the same circuit? On the smoke detectors, I assume two wires are for power, and two are for detection. Would I use the detection wires for the heat detector?

From just looking at the install manual you need to connect each of these detectors to each other, then have the last detector connected to a "Z" terminal on the board and the other on any "COM" terminal.

The two power wires will go to "AUX" and the other one to "PGM 1 or 2"

You will need a EOL resistor as well.

Yes, you may put the heat detector in the circuit. You would only use the alarm loop pair, of course. The heat detector is just a heat actuated normally open switch.

You should also have a power supervision relay connected at the last smoke detector. THis monitors the power on a 4 wire smoke loop, and if the power goes away, breaks the detector or zone circuit, causing a trouble.
