I followed a great tip how to remove indentations in a carpet. I used iron, cloth and club soda. Though the trick worked wonders on a living room and a master bedroom carpets, in my daughter's room I managed to burn a piece of the carpet with the iron. The "melted stain" is not huge, but very visible. Any ideas how to soften this melted carpet patch.
Thanks,
Anna

If the melt is only on the tips of the yarn, you can carefully trim it off with a sharp scissors, unless the carpet is a loop pile. Trim a bit more than the effected area and try to trim from just what you need to no trimming at all in an attempt to blend in the look. It may not go completely away, but should look better than what you've got. If the melt is too far down to allow that, use a throw rug there or plug the carpet because there's no bringing it back. It's like trying to unburn wood.
