Hi,
We just purchase a ne house that sits on a concrete slab. We removed the old carpenting in the greatroom for recarpeting. We would like to lay an approx. 5'X3' PA bluestone entrance off the patio prior to recarpeting. A couple of questions.
1. How do I prep the old concrete befor laying the stone bonding agent.
2. What type of adhesive or bonding agent to lay the stone is appropriate.
3. How do I frame the stoned area to permit a clean trasition from the carpet to the stoned pad.
4. what kind of grouting do I use to make about 1/2" spacing between the stones.
FYI. I plan on using approx. 1/2 " thick stone about 18" square and will be carpeting the rest of the room with the thickest pad available to lay on the concrete slab with a berber carpet. The fireplace hearth in the same room appears to be about 1/2 " thick stone with some sort of morter or cement base which the stone is laid in, about 1/2 " thick.
Thanks for any help!

Don't just use any old pad with berber carpet. 8# 3/8" rebond is correct or one specifically called "berber pad", if not you will void the warrantee.

Carpet and pad will be installed by professionals so I'm sure they will be aware of their warrenty issues.
