Hi, I plan to install some recessed light in my bedroom, I am wondering how many recessed light with MR16 light bulb do I need for my room? My room size is 12'x17'. Should I install them along the wall or put the light evenly around the room?
thx for any suggestion!

Normally, in a bedroom, you just need enough general lighting to be able to walk around without bumping into the furniture. Other needs, such as reading, are taken care of with task lighting. Or maybe some mood lighting. Or accent lighting for artwork.
But it's really up to you to know how much lighting your activities in this room are going to require. That varies a great deal from person to person. Ceiling height and wall color also factor into the equation.
Sorry for the vague response. In these kind of situations, I encourage you to check out the lighting in model homes and/or friends homes to see what you like and dislike.

Try this method.
Use MR16 recessed fixtures to accent furniture, artwork, or architectural details. You can also consider using them as reading lights above the bed.
For general, ambient lighting use table or floor lamps, or a decorative ceiling mounted fixture. Put these on multiples switches to create light layers.
You should be very ahppy with the results.
Good luck.
