This is a 49cc TnG Scooter that I purchased about 2 years ago. It runs great WHEN you can get it started. It is always properly wintered. I have taken the spark plug out and squirted some fuel in the hole and replaced the plug, it will fire right off but then die. I have taken all the fuel out of the tank and blown out the lines, replaced the fuel filter (which was new with less than 150miles on it) and still it will not start. I can give it full throttle and turn the engine over, which should choke the thing, but I don't even get a little sputter. If I play with it long enough it will eventualy fire over and run all day. But if it sits and cools off...its the same story. Oh, and when I pulled the spark plug,,it is firing great.....its gotta be fuel?
Thanks for any input!

Replacing the plug (original, not hotter) is good maintenance, but I believe you have a fuel related issue. I do think I would check the spark at the plug (ground the plug and turn the scooter over). You should have a bright blue spark.
I imagine you need to look at and clean the carburetor. Since you have had it running and it seems to do OK on the long haul, I would use Sea Foam in it to see if that doesn't clean it up without dismantling it. If not, you may have to tear it down for a good cleaning.
Hope this helps,
Bob

Thanks for the reply Bob. I will head up to Napa and see if I can get some Seafoam. It just acts like it isn't getting but just a small amount of fuel, then after a while of pumping the accelerator it will fire up and run like a champ. I checked the plug and it appears to have a good spark.
Thanks again for your help!
