Hello. How can I compress the small lever spring at the top of the brake band set-up for the the trip mechanism. Thanks, Regards, Bob.

Strong fingers or ingenuity. There is no tool made for this to my knowledge. If all else fails, you can buy a new, complete assembly, part number C032000060.
