Four year old side by side. After a power surge or brown out condition the compressor went. Since repaired, no ice making or defrosting. Replaced both the adaptive defrost module and motor control of the ice maker itself. Still no ice. I suspect possibly the selenoid valve but I can fill a glass of water via the dispenser. Can the portion for the ice maker go bad? Also suspect the thermostat on the 1/2 moon ice tray. Can it not be functioning properly? I did manually fill the ice tray and the cubes froze, but nothing prompted it to empty. Help befor I replace every part there.

The icemaker uses a separate solenoid, or one half of a dual solenoid valve assembly.

It could be out of time, or yes, the ejector thermostat failed.

What is the model# of your fridge?

Does your ice maker dump the ice into a bucket in the freezer door?

Don't have the model number handy, but yes the ice dumps into the container on the freezer door.
