my lawnmower starts and dies. It has no throtle that i can find to increase the horse power if started. I clean the carburetor and the valves and the fuel tank and the sparkplug. my wife bought it while at work wish she didnt! My lawnmower is a 4.0hp quattro by briggs & stratton. Does the coil have to touch the flywheel? the lawnmower does have spark.

The coil should be .010" from the flywheel. Sounds like maybe you need a diaphragm for the carburetor.

The new diaphragm you would need is Briggs part number 495770.
