I'd like to buy some cheap clay pots and use a faux finish to spice them up. The end result is that I'd want them to look like old cement, rustic, old world, Tuscan etc.
I'm thinking that I'll paint it with a base coat then apply a second coat with some glaze added and blotch it on with a rag or sponge. I'm just not sure of the paint types or if a sealer of some kind is recommended.
Remember too, the idea is to be cheap!
Thanks!

roll them in dirt & then sponge on buttermilk. they'll look old in no time.
are you wanting to use them indoors or outside?

Both, so I'd say outside.
Not sure if I should take you serious about the dirt & buttermilk or not, please clarify

i'm serious. i saw it on a tv show. it was for outdoor pots. they painted buttermilk on them and i think it grew moss or mold or something & made them look old.

I will give it a try. If for no other reason but to make some pancakes! :)
