I am attempting to add another light to my cellar way.

Currently I have a light at the bottom and wish to add one to the top of the stairs. The walls and ceiling are finished, so I cannot access the power directly from the light fixture. There is currently one light fixture and two three-way switches (red, black and white).

Question is: Can I run the top light off of the top switch. If so, how does the wiring install.

Appreciate it.

Maybe, maybe not, but doubtful. Tell us the wiring at each switch and at the light. Tell us ALL the wiring.

The wiring on both switches is white on the left side of the switch, black directly opposite on the right side off the switch, red on the right side above the black wire.

The wiring to the new light is currently black and white. The wiring to the current light is black and white. Both are grounded.

I can not access any other wires.

Your information is not what is needed. You did not tell me ALL the wiring.

Left, right, top and bottom mean nothing. For a three way switch it is necessary to know what is connected to the common and what is connected to the travelers.

I need to know ALL the cables at each location. I need to know what wires are in those cables and how those wires are connected to anything.
