I have the new part but can not figure how to disconnect the broken part. The new switch has 4 male metal prongs with tiny holes.

Often these parts just push in from the front. But to get them out again is like removing a fishhook. Obviously they do that on purpose so they lock in place and cant' fall out. They snap in place when inserted. To remove them, normally there is spring-loaded plastic on 2 opposing sides of the switch that you have to squeeze together to get it to comeback out the front of the metal.
