Air Conditioning - what do you think?????

Several days ago our central ac (which is in our attic) stopped working. The repairman came, said it was clogged in the lines, vacuumed it out with a wetvac and it resumed working. Yesterday it stopped again and my husband said it had reclogged. We emptied out buckets of water from the drain pan and vacummed out the outside drain line and it is working again. It is about 5 or so years old and this is the first time it has done this. Obviously there is a reason it is reclogging so quickly. Any ideas?????

Probably the wads of gook/scum, that are probably all over the bottom of the pan, now ran to the pan's drainhole again. You'd have to access the coil and clean, be my guess.

Thanks for the insight; I'll pass on the word and will see if we can clean the coil. I really do appreciate your suggestion!!!

and clean out the condensate pan...this is where everthing collects... Then have him throw in a half dozen Kontrol tablets...these are algecide killers...and then check to make sure the drainline is pitched down hill all the way or it will happen again.
