hi there i live in uk im having trouble with my house lights..ive
got 2 sets of lights in kitchen with 4 bulbs on each..they all blew
and my 2 wall lights in frontroom dont work..the prob is ive put new
bulbs in ..dont work ive tested each bulb socket with my screwdriver
which lights up when its live and all have power..when the lights
blew in kitchen the main fuse in box didnt blow..my ceiling light in
front room still works which works off main fuse..please help thanks

Not too familiar with UK circuitry, but make sure you are using bulbs rated for 220 volts. Is it possible the bulbs are rated lower?

Sounds like you have the hot wire OK. Check your return wire. You need them both for the liht to work. Problem could be in device that is still working.

hi there i took your advice and looked into the ceiling light again and i tightened the screws for the return wires and guess what..it worked and the wall lights they must be on the same loop..how could a screw loosen when its in the ceiling fitting? anyway thanks for your good advice.
