we purchased a new couch at a great discount that has a corner worn until there is a hole in the fabric. The fabric is a seude looking, i call it a faux leather. The hole is about 1 inch long and about a half inch wide. does any one have any suggestions?

I don't know if an iron on patch of any kind will work in this situation and in fact, I don't think it will. You can't actually repair a hole/tear, you need to have it recovered and the money you saved will be spent paying someone to do this. I guess if you got pillows with it and you can spare one, you could cut a piece and hand sew it carefully over the hole, but it will be somewhat noticeable.
