I have a "dining room" which we are looking to turn into a reading room. The wall of the dining room goes from the room straight down a hallway and terminates in the kitchen with no breaks.
I have thought about building a faux doorway in the beginning of the hallway because I want to paint the room a darker color and am at a loss on how to separate it from the hallway and Kitchen.
Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has thoughts and needs to see what it looks like I can post some pictures tonight.
Thanks so much.

The faux doorway is the best idea
If not continuing the color down the wall, it needs to be separated by trim of some sort
Most attempts look kind of cheesy
Arches sometimes can work
Doorways, if appropriate for the transition, can work fine

or use a color that would work in both spaces. that would be best & would keep things flowing.

We really considered a color that would work in both spaces. But we want something a little warmer in the reading area, and our Kitchen has white cabinets and white appliances and we were leaning toward the paler yellows there with possibly some tile backsplash work on the walls.
Here are some pictures that might give you a better idea of what I am working with.
I have never seen a faux doorway to separate a space like this and the carpet to hardwood transition makes it even more interesting.
