I am remodeling our basement that includes a full bathroom. I was told be a contractor that you can vent your bathroom exhaust fan into the furnace exhaust that goes out the chimney. This would make life much easier because this pipe is right behind the bathroom in a storage area. The pipe is lower than the exhaust unit though. Is this alright?
My second option would be to pipe it 20 feet through the rafters to the dryer exhaust pipe. Can you T this hole going outside and connect both the dryer and bathroom exhaust?
My problem with cutting a new hole is that there is no access to the outside wall where the exit hole would be.
Thanks.

I'd shy away from both these ideas. Code says that dryer vents are to be independent units and not hooked to any other system. & I would be wary of hooking anything into a furnace exhaust system that could have the potential of backing fumes into an enclosed space. A call to the local permit office will answer that question real quickly (I assume you pulled a permit for the remodel).
You may have to frame a small chase that you can hide the duct work to get it to exit the building at a more convenient place.
