I have pink magic marker stains on my beige rug - they've been there a few years. I just sold my house, so I'd really like to get rid of them within the next few days.

Welcome to the fourms! If its not permanent...rubbing alcohol applied to a white rag and blotting outside to in may help. But since its been years, i would guess it may be in there. If it doubt hire a professional cleaner.

Alcohol is the proper solvent for ink, as Docduck stated. I also agree that the time involved has probably made the stain permanent.
