I've been doing a lot of research on resurfacing vs replacing. I have decided to resurface but now I am trying to decide if I should do it myself or hire a contractor. I need to resurface kitchen countertops (formica), tile in the bathroom and marble tub and countertop/sinks. What would you suggest if I decide to tackle the job myself? Is it a weekend job?

It all depends on your skill at those various jobs as to how long it will take you - combined with the size/scope of the work to be done. I would guess, however, that it's going to take more than a couple of days from start to finish (for each project).
