I have an ancient 1980 model 3-36508 36 inch cut Murray rider with the 11 hp B&S engine. I need jackshafts and spindles but can't find them in the parts listings at Outdoor Distributors and B & S. They have parts for a 38" deck but don't seem to know if the deck parts for a 38" deck will fit my 36" deck. Does anyone know? Thanks

I don't have numbers on hand, but as I recall, the parts are similar but not the same. I believe the 36" older jackshafts are keyed instead of splined like the 38s, and the mandrel housings have 2 different bearings on the newer 38, but the bearings are both the same size on the older 36s.
