Haven't found any comments on these? Are they quality paints or should I stick with Ben Moore or Sherwin Wms.?

Also, do I want a semi gloss or Satin for the kitchen?

I'd stick with name brand paints. I've only used a few gallons of those celebirty name paints and have found them harder to work with than the standard top of the line paints. I think that to pay the person who's name is on the label they cut the quality - to keep a competive price.

FYI
Many designer paints are made by SW. They are not the top end paints. You can buy a paint that is very cheap and terrible to work with or you can spend $40 a gallon and get the same quality of a $10 a gallon paint with Laura's name on it.

Ha!! Neither Laura nor Eddie mean squat to me - particularly when they want my money for their name - I don't THINK so!

Thank you for confirming my gut feeling about paying for the name.

I already went to Sherwin today.

There are names of Paint Manufacturers that do mean something. Pratt & Lambert, Benjamin Moore, Hirshfield's (in MN) look around for independent dealers and manufacturers, you may get better service and prices then from a large chain.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice. I bought a sample of the Laura Ashley just to test it. I'm no professional painter, but I wouldn't recommend it -- doesn't go on very easily, nor does it cover very well. Lesson learned! I did buy some Sherwin Williams yesterday too and it went on like a charm -- room is nearly finished!
