I am finishing my basement and I have used extruded polystyrene insulation everywhere but the back wall. I have a walkout basement and the backwall is actaully framed out has some type of foil backing insulation.

Can I keep this insulation or should I replace it with the extruded polystyrene?

Secondly I have mistakenly made some rips in the foil insulation - what's the best method to repair these rips - foil tape?
