Riding mower starts, but can't get it to move..belts seem ok, what is wrong?

Whats the model and serial number of your rider?
Many MTD products have (2) drive belts that operate a variable speed drive setup, either one of the belts can cause a problem, the variable speed drive pulley or perhaps the parking brake could be causing a problem. There may also be a problem with the transmission or differential, if either one of the wheels is loose on the axle (sheared key or missing) it also will not move.
