Poulan tractor starts fine but once gear is engaged and clutch released the motor simply stops. The engine will also stop when blades are engaged. Thank you.

Sounds like a bad seat safety switch. The engine will stop for both the mower and when in gear if no one is on the seat.

That took care of it, simply reconnected the seat switch and that was it! thanks a million
