I just regrouted my tenants bathroom....i dremeled dremeled and scrapped the old grout out

i regrouted i don't think i removed enough grout when i was tooling it....instead of 1/8 its slight wider

am i screwed? i only need this to last a year... i will be remodeling the bath but i need it not to leak because i want to repair the floor below....so should i regrout or i should be ok?

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean.

Are you saying you left 1/8" of old grout on the sides or at that bottom?

the old grout joint was like an 1/8 of an inch...i put in the new grout and the the grout joint was wider because i let it overlap the bevel of the tile slightly

it was my first time it look good and I wasn't thinking

I understand now.

You should be fine. As long as the joint is packed with grout, you will be good. It's now just a aesthetic thing now.

"i want to repair the floor below...."

Did the old grout on the shower floor show signs of persistent mold? If it did, I hope you used a powdered Portland cement grout, not the pre-mixed kind that comes in a bucket. At least, that's what it took to fix my moldy damp shower floor. The instant grout is okay for shower walls, but not floors, because it never hardens properly on a damp floor. I learned this the hard way myself. Good luck.
