Hi, I have a question...We just moved into our newly built home at the end of January. The builder includes insulating the basement with r12 and polytarp super 6.
We noticed the ceramic floors were quite cold and in the basement it' like a freezer in the winter. Now that the weather has warmed up, we're getting condensation on the inside of the barrier.
We called the builder, and they said this is common, and just slit some holes in the barrier to let the water run out.???
Also, most of the cold air seems to be coming in from the sill plates, but he said they were insulated fine.
Can anyone help with this, should we call him back or is there something we can do ourselves?

Thanks so much!!!
