Hello to everyone on these boards. I am new to them and plan on being a regular here.
The last several weeks I have been wanting some sort of water feature in my back yard. Just got a privacy fence put up a month ago, and its like a new backyard to my wife and I. I toyed with the idea of a pondless waterfall, till I seen the pricetag on them. Ponds are out of the question. Dont want the high maintanace involved. Might go with a medium size fountain someday, but till then I am thinking of working with a tub garden. Wiskey barrel sized. And I want water plants, but no fish for now. Only a few plants. I wish to be able to see the water in the tub. My backyard get very little sunlight, which may be a good thing in terms of little algea growth.
My question is, what are good plants to use that require little sunlight? I want to have a small fountain in this tub for visual and astetics reasons. I also hear lillys dont do well with splashing water.
