I'm painting a room that had some ceiling and one wall damage from a roof leak. The leak is repaired, the damage on the ceiling and wall is repaired, and the effected area is now primed. I'm going to paint the entire room, the new paint is the same color as the existing, and I'm wondering if it all needs to be primed or is what I've done so far sufficient.

As long as any water stains were coated with a solvent based primer you should be good to go.

Thanks, I was hoping that was the answer. I don't want to have to buy another gallon of primer. I'm not sure it was necessary, but I went over the stained area twice because it still showed through pretty clearly.
