I have an older (mf'd 1996) GE projection TV, model 46GW943. It worked great until this morning. After watching it last night with no problems, this morning it won't turn on. The outlet is working, as is the cable, remote control, etc. The TV simply won't switch on, neither manually nor with the remote. No lightning strikes, etc. and the unit is plugged into a surge protector. The other appliances plugged into the same surge protector strip are working fine. I've tried plugging it into a different outlet on the same surge strip to no avail. I would think it would have to be something fairly simple concerning the power supply, but I'm no TV guy so I'm here looking for suggestions as to the possibilities. Thanks in advance.

Some models have a fuse within the casing. Remove the back casing and inspect for this. If you cannot find a fuse, the it sounds like a bad power supply which is usually located in the bottom left of the set (looking from the back).
