My swamp cooler has 2 pieces of 12-2 romex running to it. The pump works fine when we turn the switch on. It's black and white are wired to a black and white from one romex, so I know there is power. There are 4wires forthe 2 speedmotor, a red, white,black, and green. I have a white and black from the second peice of romex available, and I don't know what to hook up to what. please help. thanks!

White is your common wire. Green is your ground wire. Red is one speed and black is the other speed. the motor data plate will tell what color is high and which is low.

thanks! that is what I tried telling the roofer who was reattatching it.....
