Wondering what's adequate and what is overkill for Coax cable for in wall, in home analog Cable TV signal wiring. How close can wiring lie to 110v domestic power cables. I seem some do it yourself article recommends quad shield which I've never even seen let alone know where to buy...

In wall rated COAX is typical called RG6. This is what the cable company uses. You cannot have the COAX running into the same gang box as high voltage (120v) unless there is a seperator.

You can have this COAX a few inches away from these lines and be fine.

Quad shield is pretty common and found at most big box stores like Home Depot.

The main types of COAX is RG59 and RG6. RG6 is thicker and capable of handling more bandwidth.

By code, you should get cable that says "rated for in-wall" or similar, but, you would not have any problems running regular cable either.
