Hi, I just bought a 63" Phillips and 58" Panasonic Plasmas.

The past hookup.
I had a 27" Sharp, it was connected to my Toshiba Hard drive recorder by
using a RF-Link 5.8 transmitter, it had a very good picture.

Bedroom had a 60' Mitsubishi to Sony 250 gig recorder with the RF Link transmitting from the Toshiba on one line in and direct from the Sony recorder on another line in. This way I can watch content from both recorders from the bedroom.

Funny thing is when you buy a new tv, if you have a harddrive recorder, you seldom if ever watch anything live so this means going through the recorder for all your viewing other than DVD's.

Im surprised to see the Panasonic plasma hooked to Toshiba recorder have such poor picture quaility, even worse than the 27"! This was a major surprise, since I NEVER watch anything live, its either recorded or time slip only. After finding a good placement for the reciever with minumal interferce, (the Plasma has much more interference) the picture is still not up to regular broadcast quailty.

I have yet to try the 63" yet, it has a Sony recorder.

Is there any good answer, my Link is 4-5 years old perhaps is obsolete already?

Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.
Dan

The signal over the Link is composite 480i SD video.
You new set likes 1080p HD.
480i video will just look bad on an HD set

You can probably adjust the set to make it look not so bad though.
