I plan to plant confederate jasmine (central georgia) to cover a pergola, backed with lattice. The structure is 24ft long. How many plants do I need and what should the spacing be? I would like to cover the top and back of this pergola.

When mature Confederate Jasmine will reach 20 feet. This is a moderate to fast growing plant. Remember bees like the blossoms. Tie the stems to a fairly heavy support. Pinch tips to stimulate lateral growth and prune after flowering if necessary to restrain growth. It blooms on last year's growth, so prune when it finishes blooming. All parts of plant are poisonous. Can cause skin irritation if handled.
Spacing? There appears to be conflicting info. Some recommend 3-5'. Others 6-8'.
