My husband and I were given a used Carrier Heat Pump-model # 50QQ036340. We were told the reason for giving it away was because the people moved up to a newer and bigger unit. We don't know if the unit works
So my husband is going to hook it up and try it out.
We are
needing the wiring diagram. I have went to
the Carrier web-site with no luck. We even called Carrier and my husband said they talked to him like he was an alien or something. They didn't know what to do or who to ask. Can anyone point us in the right direction please??
Thank You For Your Time!

First you cant just run a heatpump to see if it works . It all has to be with the lines and coil all on it. Then If its not been pumped down and sealed up right Id stay away from it for sure

Ed, this is a packaged heatpump.
No refrigerant lines to touch.
Looks like this model was only made from around 1986 to 1993.
What is husband back ground, electrical capability?
What is the serial number?

CiiTech,
Thank you for giving me your time. To answer your questions;
my husband has experience in wiring ,and the serial number is really worn ,but what I can make of it is: 1? 287023969. I really appreciate all of your help!!!! Thank You
P.S
My husband said to tell you that he has had it running, he is needing to know about 3 wires that hook up from the heating side of the heat pump to the thermostat

Every wire is color coded. We have no Idea what wires your husband hooked up
List the colors of the wires please?
Red - 24v
Brown - Common - Do not messup the common this one in the wrong place could blow your transformer.
Yellow is for the Contactor
Orange - Reversing Valve
Green - Fan
White - Aux - HeatStrips you can also tie your emergency heat thermostat wire to this.
If you have other wires for the heat you can wire cap them off because they would go to the same place the white wire goes too.
If you have other wires list them

I sant her all the manuals and the wiring diagram for this unit. And they were quite happy.
I'm thinking it's time to close this thread.

CiiTech,
I have the same unit and was wondering about the efficiency ratings. Do you have any information?
Thanks
