i have a Sony KV-27FS120 27" FD Trinitron WEGA Flat Screen TV. i have noticed this morning my screen has shifted from the left to the right about an 1 1/2" and where the screen used to be is black. is there any fix for this. any info would be great.

This is a sounds like a power supply or bad capacitor problem.

Unless you are knowledable with electronics and safety practices, do not attempt to repair yourself. Most repairs require good soldering skills. If you want, you can remove the rear casing and inspect the circuit boards. You want to look for burnt resistors, capacitors, solder joints, etc.

"Lack of width is usually caused by defective power supply, low horizontal drive to the yoke and flyback, defective circuits in the pincushioning amplifier section, excessive high-voltage caused by defective voltage regulation, and or excessive loading on the secondary side of the flyback. "

i looked at my tv this afternoon at lunch it ended up being the power strip that it was plug into
thanks for the info if it starts to do that again and the power strip trick doesn't work i know where to start.
