My house is approx. 900 sq.ft. How long would you expect a central air unit to take to cool it from say 84 to 78 with 50% humidity in the outside air and an outside air temp of 78 degrees at 10 oclock at night? Thanks Marsha

It depends on a lot of factors. Such as how well the unit is sized, how well your home is insulated, what the solar load, etc...
It could take anywhere from a couple hours to all night.

It may take as long as 4 hours..... If the system is oversized, an hour...
